Business Administrator, Marketing & Communications

Education and Experience:

BA required

MA or MDiv would be an asset

Job Summary

This position requires an independent and outgoing person with a background in religious studies, marketing and communications to staff an office in downtown Tacoma. Tasks are multi-faceted and include: writing, editing, social networking, donor relations, fundraising, research, web posting, communications, event planning, and accounting. Staffing the office also involves fulfilling orders, answering the phone and administrative responsibilities.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Background or education in religious studies, with an awareness of inter-faith dialogue and progressive Christianity

Experience or education in Communications and Marketing

Accounting skills (Paypal, budgets, financial reports)

Skill in planning and organizing work activities to meet established assignments

Skill in compiling, analyzing, and reporting accounting and budget data

Ability and comfort in marketing materials developed by the organization

Ability to communicate ideas effectively

Ability to organize and prioritize day-to-day functions of the position and to work independently

Desired:

Positive attitude, openness to interfaith connections, skilled communicator, efficient, interested in social networking, creative, ability to self-direct, volunteer experience, critical thinker, integrity and willingness to learn web posting and accounting tasks.

Salary and Benefits:

Beginning salary: $30,000/ 30 hour work week. Two weeks paid vacation leave. 10 days paid sick leave.
