The Center for Action and Contemplation Announces a special 2007 summer Conference -The Great Chain of Being August 3-5 in Albuquerque, New Mexico
The Great Chain of Being: Simplifying Our Lives, will feature the Center’s founder Fr. Richard Rohr, OFM; futurist and environmentalist Paula González, SC; and Tiki Küstenmacher, author of How to Simplify Your Life.
It will be held at the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town (Albuquerque, New Mexico) from Friday, August 3 through Sunday, August 5, 2007.
Together, they will walk participants through the dire state of disconnection of the links of the “Great Chain,” and share the hope, promise and possibilities for healing through reconnection. For more information about the conference, please visit www.cacradicalgrace.org.
Ecology is a modern word for what the medieval Franciscan scholars called “The Great Chain of Being,” describing the interconnectedness of all: God, angels, humans, birds, fish, mammals, plants, rocks… They predicted that if we stopped seeing God in any one link of the chain, the whole thing would fall apart. This conference hopes to offer spiritual, global, and practical direction to help each discern their place in the chain, and how we can work together to re-link it!
