Step It Up for Earth Day
A Call for Global Warming Solutions
April 14 – March: 2-4pm, Rally: 4-5pm Solutions Fair: ends 6pm
Join Earth Ministry and leading environmental organizations for major global warming walk and rally downtown Seattle on April 14. The event is part of a National Day of Climate Action.
The march starts at Occidental Park in Pioneer Square and ends at Myrtle Edwards Park where the rally and solutions fair will be held.
The walk will give congregations and people of faith an opportunity to demonstrate public support for climate solutions. During the walk, congregations are encouraged to march with their church banners. People of faith are asked to wear red clothing and clergy are encouraged to wear a red stole. We want to create a visual presence during the march and rally!
At the rally, elected and faith leaders, including King County Executive Ron Sims and Rev. Lisa Domke (other speakers TBA), will be calling on policy makers to commit to reducing US greenhouse gas emissions, and participants will have an opportunity to make personal pledges to reduce their own global warming impact. The solutions fair will feature information booths from non-profit organizations, businesses, community groups, and local governments, and offer individuals the opportunity to learn more about what they can do to follow through on their commitment to stop climate change.
Save the date and plan to join us under the Earth Ministry banner in Occidental Park at 2pm! For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (206) 632-2426. For information on how to get to the event, click here.
