I don’t believe in any of the religions
I believe that there is only one God.
A Universal god.
When skies on high were not yet named
Nor earth below defined in voice,
Thoughts, the first ones, their perceivers
And Creativity, who ordered them,
Mixed their recollects together,
As our lives tread onward, we find ourselves on the Earth side of a “door”
Mortality certain to face us, we wonder what’s beyond –what is the “more?”
About the life of Jesus of Nazareth, the Bible records some of the story
A man who walked on Earth, helping us seek the God of eternal glory
Wash me in the river
Dry me on the shore
Do this for me, cousin
As you did for those before
Shafts of light
Through cathedral windows.
Upon the leaves
Beneath my feet.
Clearing lifetimes of Karma
through my heart
a portal of healing
draws us into love
beyond our fears
A message in a bottle
In an ocean swirled with trash
Would there be someone to read it
If the ecosystem crashed?
An hourglass stands firmly on the mantle of a fireplace
“Sands of time” are resting quietly at the glass bottom
Step into the dawn.
Cut the cord.
Pull the plug.
Break the chains
that tie and bind.
I believe in God.
(Except when I don’t.)
When others tell me who God is,
I’m believing not so much.
When I kiss my daughters goodnight,
my belief is overwhelming.
Bury my soul in the depths of your love, o my lord;
Let me not see a morrow of suffering in the world.
Discomfort and dissatisfaction became a part of my life,
As I can’t lean on your bosom like your beloved disciple.
