Quote for Easter Reading

“Why look for the living among the dead?” [Luke 24:5]

“We live in a post-resurrection age, which in many ways is not unlike that of the first followers of a Galilean peasant sage and martyr, who was dead and gone for them, as well. With nothing more than variations of remembered tales of one who once lived, and died, and was no more, the dawn returns for us to look once again for what remains of his words and deeds. Once known simply as the Way, it is still a path for those who would shake the dust of arcane religious superstition off our feet and venture on into what the poet calls “the land of unlikeness,” and the man from Nazareth unceasingly sketched out for us to be the reign of God.”
