We maim life today

When we see the wood and not the tree,

When we fail to dream of what could be,

We maim life today.

 

Who hurts life today?

We hurt life today

When we hear the words but not the heart,

When we know the facts but not the art,

We hurt life today.

 

Who curbs life today?

We curb life today

When the market forms our central theme,

When we cast aside the people’s dream,

We curb life today.

 

Who dulls life today?

We dull life today

When we spread more guilt and not more joy,

When we let dependency destroy,

We dull life today.

 

Who chokes life today?

We choke life today

When we stop our spirits flying free,

When we look and look and never see,

We choke life today.
