Mother’s Day

If you ask your mother for one fried egg for breakfast and she
gives you two fried eggs and you eat both of them, who is
better at arithmetic, you or your mother?
                                         — from “Arithmetic” by Carl Sandburg

For mothers everywhere, who sense what we really need and provide it even before we  ask for it, we offer special thanks on Mother’s Day.  Mothers are our first models of unconditional love, our first sanctuary.  To be a mother – biologically or not – is to be forever connected in love and care to another human being.  A holy calling indeed.

Giving Thanks for Families
