Now the star of Christmas
shines into our day,
points a new direction:
change is on the way –
Our created and conscious selves were, some way, divinely brought about
The figurative “hand of God” as eternally present, there’s very little doubt!
Have you ever seen
in your life
than the way the sun,
relaxed and easy,
floats toward the horizon
From Good Friday’s gruesome darkness
To the rise of Easter Morn
Lies a path beyond our coyness,
Path that holds the newly born.
Praise the source of faith and learning
that has sparked and stoked the mind
with a passion for discerning
how the world has been designed.
Word of God from Bible page,
Sacred wisdom for life’s way,
Framed within a distant age,
Breaking forth in power today.
From a very different culture,
Flowing from some ancient place,
Stories in our sacred scripture
Authored by a diff’rent race.
“Wherever you look…see that one unique Presence, indivisible and eternal, is manifested in all the universe. That is because God impregnates all things.” Anandamayi Ma
In the spirit of Janus, I ended the year looking backward at a world in disarray and forward at three faith movements I expect in 2015.
We need a cross to sign the truth
That pain is part of life,
For joys and sorrows intertwine
And growth evolves through strife.
“Weep not, weep not for me*
Daughters of Israel’s womb;
Weep for yourselves”, said Christ
“Not for my cross or tomb”.
Welcome to you all, to this time of remembrance and thanksgiving –
and a time of sadness and tears too.
