An Advent/Christmas Webinar Featuring Christopher Levan

Wishing You a Joyful & Theologically Progressive Christmas

An Advent/Christmas Webinar Featuring Christopher Levan

TOPIC: Exploring the Meaning of the Nativity behind the Hype and Hyperbole

What was each of the original authors of Matthew’s and Luke’s gospels wanting to convey as the meaning of their Nativity story? The original historical events surrounding the birth of Jesus have been “shaped” or “selected” or “created” by the evangelists Matthew and Luke. This session will explore possible meanings embedded in the Nativity narrative – how each story responds both to disparaging critiques of the Jesus story made by anti-Christian critics and how an audience would respond to certain key-words/concepts developed by each story teller. This webinar includes Christopher sharing his insights and hands-on work/activities by participants.

Guest Speaker: Christopher Levan, pastor, professor and parent, has spent his life working with words – words that move and inspire. His day job was in a church, and his life’s vocation is as a “reparador de suenos” – repairer of dreams…helping others achieve their goals and ambitions. In the church world, that means growing a community of generosity. A baker, biker, and tour guide, Christopher resides in Salt Spring Island, B.C., Canada, with his wife Ellen.
