A Place to Moor Your Love

By Published On: February 26, 20200 Comments on A Place to Moor Your Love

We the creatures of this earth
Raise grateful voices for our birth
Nourished by sustaining care
In us the hopes of others bear

Along our way we dared to dream
Of what our lives could truly mean
Expectantly we yearned to fly
And learned at last of how to sigh

Illusions and failures we have faced
And few the victories we’ve embraced
Yet through it all we persevered
Despite the things that we most feared

When sad we’ve laughed, when glad we’ve cried
Life in a box we have defied
Passions we have, talents we hone
Are they enough, if we are alone

To be beloved we dutifully seek
How earnest our prayers we faithfully speak
But will we find love if lovers we’re not
We can’t make a bed asleep in a cot

Islands aren’t grateful surrounded by sea
Till dire castaways they welcome with glee
Come you shipwrecked souls, land upon my shore
Find haven for your heart, my harbor your love moor.
