Can bread and wine transform our minds

With all their complex modes?

Can sharing festive liturgies

Unlock empowering codes?

When we perceive the sacredness

Of life’s evolving ways

Then Eucharist becomes a path

That fills our hearts with praise.

 

The wonder of this sacred feast

Unfolds through wine and bread

Until the way we act is changed

And inner needs are fed.

O Christ, who comes as wine and bread,

Whose presence we discern,

To us you are the sacred Way,

The Way for which we yearn.

 

When we consume within this Way

Instead of needing more

We learn to share what we possess

With all Earth’s hungry poor.

O sacred Earth who mothers us

With cosmic bread and wine

You are the sacramental space

Where all life is divine.
