For the Love of Black Women


When we talk about the reproductive justice movement, we mean the movement founded by Black women that is a part of the larger movement for reproductive health in the U.S. and globally. This work is rooted in the commitment to maintain bodily autonomy for women and all people, including the right to choose to have or not have children through safe and legal abortion, and, for those with children, the right to parent their children safely and successfully.

We reflected together on the holistic vision and practice of their work across the intersections of reproductive justice, nonviolent peace-making, community building, and more. The deep power of this conversation was in the wisdom each generation exchanged.

Our public event, a panel with luminaries Rev. Dr. Emma Jordan-Simpson, Aishah Shahidah Simmons, and Raquel Willis showed the power and importance of making spaces for wholeness and healing as we imagine radical new futures. Read their full bios on the event page:
