No Fixed Address: faith as journey

Ordained since 1956, with nothing to prove or to fear, Bodycomb answers questions many have been afraid to ask. Acknowledging that everyone is the product of a story, he sets his idea of faith as ‘journey’ firmly within his own experience, dealing with who or what we mean by G-O-D, who Jesus is, and religious pluralism. Written in the avuncular style that marks his preaching and teaching, this book has appealed to both scholar and lay reader.

John is one of the Australian theological giants in the liberal protestant stream and provides a respectful and respectable counterfoil to the atheists who have been given so much attention lately. Both deserve to be heard. I read it in one sitting, not that it is light and trivial, but it was that engaging. -Professor Emeritus Gary Bouma, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.

John Bodycomb shares his journey of faith – as a theological and spiritual wanderer from his early conversion to latter day spiritual stirrer trying to get people to face the honest questions that living in today’s world requires.

The book, which lends itself to small group work with included discussion questions, is rapidly being taken up for that purpose. The book was also the subject of an article in a recent edition of the West Australian newspaper (click here to download the article – [PDF; 158KB]).
