It was MLK Sunday
A point of purpose
perhaps for dreamers
and churches and every
person of faith
and conscience with hope.

A friend said;
“but its ancient history
to so many.”

That reminded me of watching
a re-run of an old film,
“Mississippi Burning.”
My young sons watched it too.
Innocent minds
needing influenced
about the way things
where and still are!
Like the wailing wall,
never forget!

They asked me,
“what country was that?”
Old News!
And now it would seem
It really is
“No Country for Old Men.”
or at least those of us
who still remember
and once dreamed with Martin.

Ancient history of clubs swinging
and sculls cracking,
fire hoses
fear taunts tossed
along with the rocks
“Old News” in a world too busy
to abide memories of
what was and so it still is
but

I …still have a dream
that one day
soon
We still shall overcome!
