Why did everyone turn and look the other way when they saw Jerry Sandusky raping children?  Where were the heroes?  The Freeh report describes what they call “a striking lack of empathy” on the part of university officials.  Can’t the same be said to Herod and his guests who are willing to cut off the head of John the Baptist in order to avoid minor embarrassment?  How much evil do we go along with in order to get along in society?
