ProgressiveChristianity.org is nothing without YOU – everything that we do is for you. That is our purpose, providing resources for people like you who are exploring their spirituality from a progressive Christian perspective.

We are also a non-profit working within the constraints of a relatively tight budget;  without your support, we truly could literally be little to nothing. So, here is the ask: if you are in a position to donate any amount, please consider doing so. Even better, consider making your gift a sustaining gift (choose Recurring Donation); it helps provide a much needed, stable, financial foundation from which we can continue to grow into the future.

Good Friday

Good Friday, with its graphic images of death and despair, is endurable every year because we already know that Easter is coming, soon.  But what if we didn’t know that?  What if we didn’t have a script for Holy Week, what if everything were happening in real time for the first time?  Sort of like life, in other words.  Of all the scriptural players in the drama of the first Passion, it was Mary Magdalene who kept showing up, with love and trust, though she could not possibly have known how it would all play out.  It’s still true that showing up, with love and trust, is a good strategy when facing the unknown.
