“The great need in the Christian church is for a Sunday school curriculum for children that does not equate faith with having a pre-modern mind.  The Center for Progressive Christianity has produced just that.  Teachers can now teach children in Sunday school without crossing their fingers.  I endorse it wholeheartedly.”  ~John Shelby Spong (Author, Jesus for the Non-Religious)

“At last, Sunday School lessons for which no apology is necessary.” ~James R. Adams, Author of So You Think You’re Not Religiousand From Literal to Literacy.

  1. The information provided indicates the topics, but do the lessons include colouring, puzzles and crafts to keep the interest of the target age groups?

    • Hi Richard.
      thank you for your comment!
Yes, each lesson of the 38 FUll lessons include a few activities and in general have movement activities, craft activities, music tips, nature tips, meditations, affirmations, as well as a original short story. Teachers have told us that there is more than enough to do with each lesson and in fact, many people have told us that there is so much material in each lesson that they can be spread out over 2-3 lessons, if needed. On this page: http://progressivechristianity.org/wp/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/NEW-Sample-Book_FINAL.pdf , there is a pdf file of a full 6 lesson sample book which gives you a clear idea of what is included in each lesson. You can download it, try it out with your teachers or kids or show to your education committee to see if its a good fit. Blessings on your work!
