TCPC is Changing its Name!

You may have noticed that some changes are being made to The Center for Progressive Christianity- like our new name- ProgressiveChristianity.org.  In the next couple of months we are also going to be improving our website and clarifying our mission.  Our name change and logo change better reflects our mission to provide a global network of progressive Christians as well as offer support and tools to create local and global communities.

An Attack on the Soul of the Nation

A central calling for Christians is to be peacemakers. Peace, we understand, is not simply the absence of current conflict, but the presence of a just community. In the midst of tragedy and violence, I believe this means every Christian must ask themselves: "How am I responsible?" What more can we do to bring peace to this world as the Prince of Peace has called us to do? What are the situations and environments that allow this kind of hate and violence to grow? How can I not only stop conflict, but also be a part of bringing about a just community that displays the positive presence of peace?

Why Is the Treasury Not Releasing Data on Who

At the end of this month, for the first time ever, the US Treasury plans to release to the public a treasure trove of demographic information on people who have received loan modifications. That is, if the government releases the information as promised – information that has a critical impact on policies that prevent home foreclosures.
