O God, so awesome yet so near:

We come to this room tonight with hearts that love You, with hearts that love a book that tells us about You, with hearts that love the Church which has taught us about You.

We come, too, with heads full of questions, with minds that can no longer believe some things that once seemed to be Certain Truth.

We also come in trust, ready to learn, humble enough to know that we cannot know what You know,  and eager to find a way through our dilemmas to a greater faith in the awesomeness of Our God.

We come in the name of Jesus, the Christ, whose name we bear.   Amen
