Heresy is Good

A podcast pushing back against the evangelical right, their distortion of the gospels, their hypocrisy, and their self-righteousness.

It’s time for an intervention. The evangelical madness has to be exposed for what it is. Christian and non-Christian alike need to push back hard against the Evangelical Right and their delusional beliefs that they can do no wrong because theirs is the One True Faith. Historically, such fanaticism has always bred hatred and intolerance, and that hasn’t changed.

The “Heresy Is Good” podcast is about fighting back against the evangelicals’ disinformation and distortion of the gospel. It addresses their hypocrisy and ignorance of Christian history, and examines why people who couldn’t even see through the transparent lies of Donald Trump, culminating in the “Big Lie,” believe that they are somehow the spiritually enlightened ones qualified to interpret Christ for the world.

Teddy Lee Brown is a heretic and proud of it. Heresy is Good seeks to take the substantive right-wing evangelical Christian presence in the US to task with a mix of styles. Some episodes cover broader topics relevant to the evangelical right, while clothes focus in on a specific person who proselytizes for a living. The most recent example of the latter is a two part in-depth look at televangelist Pat Robertson’s broadcasts shortly before and after the January 6th Capitol insurrection.
