“In the Bleak Midwinter” — New Verse to Old Carol
This carol features words by 19th century English poet Christina Rossetti which were set to music by composer Gustav Holst.
I offer here a new verse:
In the bleak midwinter
bitter storms may blow.
Drones and dominations
Chill the hopes we know.
Yet snow with sparkles glisten;
Trees proclaim with mirth
Peace and love and wonder —
Songs of Holy Birth.
