About the Author: Jeffrey Vanke
Jeffrey Vanke writes two series of historical thrillers. The Berlin Deception (2011) launched war-era spy John Becker, whose second book will appear in 2013/14, title to be announced. Witness (2013) is the first book and series title of crime thrillers leading to the fall of Jerusalem and Masada in first-century Israel, in a historical perspective on religious and secular developments. Vanke is currently writing The Last Wagon West, the true story of the extraordinary Gillis family who crossed the United States and Cold War Europe by horse-drawn covered wagon, all the way to Moscow, in the 1960s. He has also written European history (Europeanism, 2010) and political analysis. Vanke holds a Ph.D. in History from Harvard University, and he lives in Roanoke, Virginia.
